Macaws

The entire time Chuck and Sharon Cobbs were visiting, we walked miles looking for Macaws.  They would fly over our condo almost every morning. You could hear them coming because they make a very loud and unique noise.  It is difficult to catch a picture of them however because they are a large bird and move quickly.  Gail was able to get this picture.

But....on the last day Chuck and Sharon were here, the morning they were packing to leave, the Macaws came.
Chuck and I were inside when the girls came running in whispering loudly, "Get your cameras, get your cameras".
We went outside and there in the tree right outside our condo door were six pairs, twelve birds.  These birds mate for life and this morning three of the pairs were definitely mating.

The colors of these birds is amazing.
Beautiful Colors
The pairs that were mating would almost look like they were kissing.

They would squawk at each other.

Then one would hang upside down--not sure which one.

And then squawk some more.  It was quite a sight for almost a half hour.  Beautiful birds!

What a great send off for Chuck and Sharon!
